This undertaking began in 1989 by a group I was a member of called Krishnafest led by Gunagrahi Goswami. At the time we were permitted to sell t-shirts and beads on the capital mall in Washington D.C. while we conducted Hare Krishna kirtan (group singing of God's names for the welfare of all) and sold spiritual books on Krishna consciousness.  In 1991 I began to occasionally profit on sales at alternate sites, and in 1994 when Krishnafest folded I continued the program and the business with occasional participation of a few friends.
